MOBILE 2020: TWO COMPETITIONS FOR STUDENTS
*Take the chance to win a 6 month employment or get your short story
published in the
Mobile Life 2020 competition!
*Challenge
*What will the mobile phone look like in the year 2020? Is it even
smaller - maybe integrated
with the ring on your finger? Will it be a multipurpose tool that
communicates with all the
other tools you own? A kind of communication central for the home, at
work, in the shopping
mall, at the cinema, in concert halls - in all of those environments
that we inhabit?
And what will the effects be on the society? Will we be more connected,
more in touch with
our beloved and dear or will we be overloaded with crap media,
information and stressful
interactions?
*Two competitions
*We would like to know what you believe about the future mobile life and
therefore we
arrange two competitions:
*Mobile Phone 2020: design competition
*Here you (designer, engineer, student) submit a design of the future
mobile phone, with
a description of what it will be used for and a set of drawings
describing its visual
appearance - in case it has one? The winner wins a 6 month employment to
realise
parts of the vision.
*Utopian/Dystopian Mobile Life in 2020: a short story contest
*Here you (aspiring author) submit a short story that describes either
an utopian or dysopian
prospect of the future when mobile technology is intertwined with work,
various functions in
the society, leisure activities, communication with others and our life.
*More information
* http://www.mobile-life.org/mobile2020/
No entry fee.
Please spread!
